Recover your stolen Mac, anywhere in the universe

Author: seven June 13, 2008

I don’t use Mac at all, so if it wasn’t for BrainFuel’s blog post I would completely miss craziest piece of OS X software – Undercover. It’s a software that will help you find your stolen laptop. After you report it as stolen online on Orbicule website, Undercover transmits network information, he sends screen captures, he even turns on a webcam enabling you to see what’s going on in evil villains lair. If recovery of the stolen Mac fails for any reason, Undercover has an ingenious plan B. It will simulate a hardware failure by gradually making the screen darker until it becomes unusable. Brilliant, just damn brilliant. :)
