    WiFi eats babies!!!1

    Snap1 1 2 3I just accidentally stumbled upon this - WiFi routers - Silent, blinking, death!

    Be afraid, be very afraid!

  • Touch me baby, touch me now!

    640x430.aspxI remember posting a clip of this technology a year ago. Checkout Microsoft Surface. Surface is a 22 inches high, 21 inches deep and 42 inches wide touch screen display in a table-like form which provides interaction with digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects. Pretty neat!

    What else do we do

    During small breaks between making crazy websites, we like to occasionally do some charity work. For example, here is Daemon feeding bird of pray with bits and pieces of meat. Whose meat? Well, let's not go into details, OK?

    ---
    Here Daemon offers piece to the little bird:

    01 feeding the bird

    ---
    And here bird snatches it from his hands. Sweet little birdie.

    02 bird snatches piece

    We reckon, that when the hawk grows up, we will make good use of him (perhaps as an intimidation factor?) as it goes well with our visual identity.

    Let the bells Ring! Nivas wins Bronze Bell at Croatia’s biggest advertising festival!

    We are happy to announce this year’s FESTO 2007 — leading advertising festival in Croatia, awarded Bronze Bell (some say Croatia is low on silver, so second place is bronze) award in category “interactive advertising — web sites” for jasnasurina.com.
    Digitel approached us with a groundbreaking idea to present a book’s release on the web as a… BOOK! A series of authors video clips where packed into slick book design, making a strong concept which was recognized by the festivals jury.
    A fine example, of how an overused technique can still be put to good use with some creative thinking. First place was taken by our dear friends and identity father’s sudarpitarević, for their more than miraculous “Lavlja
    i Tigrova mast”
    (Lion and tigers ointment).

    Happy times at Nivas :)

  • Worst Movie Scenes Ever

    Snap1 1 2 You just have to see this! :) Hilarious! The selection is brilliant: worst death scene (Enter the ninja), worst stunt, worst reaction (Troll 2), worst acting ever (Silent Night, Deadly Night 2), most random line ever (Shark Attack 2) and worst CGI (Shark Attack 3)

    Sony’s flexible, full-color OLED

    Ok, I want this, right now! Integrated everywhere, even my underwear! :) Few days ago Sony unveiled what it is calling the world’s first flexible, full-color organic electroluminescent display (OLED) built on organic thin-film transistor (TFT) technology. This 2.5-inch prototype display is just .3-mm thick, and its flexible full-color display has a resolution of 169x120.

    LG Philips showed its 4-inch OLED last week, with an even higher resolution of 320x240. However, both these products are in the early prototype stage, and neither company has announced shipping products using the technology yet.

    Target browsers by importing your css files

    Importing css through the @import command is a beautiful thing because it allows you to control how legacy browsers like IE 5, IE 5.5 and mac IE render your sites. We all know that these browsers have poor css support and that it's impossible to have css that will render the same way in all browsers including legacy and modern browsers. I found that the best way to filter legacy browsers out is to use the @import method. So here's how to do it.
    You should always have separate stylesheets for different logical elements for example master.css (contains basic rules), typography.css (contains typographical rules), layout.css (contains layout rules)... So with that in mind add the css to the head of your html template like this:

    ‹style type="text/css" title="Default" media="all"› @import url(css/master.css); ‹/style›

    This command will import your master stylesheet from which it will get basic styles and all other advanced style information. Next open your master.css and at the top of the file, import all other stylesheets like this:

    @import url("typography.css");
    @import url("color.css");
    @import url("layout.css");
    @import url("advanced.css");

    Now here is the interesting part, you can use different @import rules to filter out browsers for example:

    @import "advanced.css"/**/; --------->modern browsers
    @import\ url("ie.css"); --------->only IE 5.5 and IE 5
    @import_url("ie.css"); --------->only mac IE

    As you can see, advanced.css will only be loaded by modern browsers while ie.css will only be loaded by IE 5, IE 5.5 and mac IE.
    The @import technique is a very powerful css tool for targeting different browsers and as such should be used wisely. Here is a list of different @import rules and how they interact with different browsers.

    Just an ordinary day at Chamber of Commerce and teen riots galore

    Today, Daemon, Rick James and I attended the closing ceremony of CARDS twinning project at Croatian Chamber of Commerce. The fabulous threesome really jumped out among many important guests in suits. :) Daemon played 3D golf on his new K800 for the whole time, I was trying to break into their WLAN with my N80, and Rick James took a nap. Not really, just kidding. We were very proud to be there since there was a lot of talk about very special projects we did for the State Audit Office.

    After the ceremony we went out for a smoke, and we got hijacked by the hordes of crazy high school graduates! We tried to recruit some of them but they were too drunk. :) Spring break, over in the States, is nothing in comparison to this.
