Didn't do real calculations for my self, but I believe blindly in every link my buddy Daemon sends me (who checks the facts nowadays anyway). Check the original article out! And if you are interesed in some more numbers, check out DOE Energy Star Desktop Information too :)

    They have a firefox Search Extension too.. Interesting..

    More over, You can rename the main display to anything you like. Cool huh?

    I actually believe in it as well. I really liked the idea of a Black Google that saves energy. However, I found a site that I think is so much better. Its called GreenbackSearch (http://www.greenbacksearch.com/). The site is also powered by Google so that the search results are the same and it has the black background and other eco-friendly colors. But as an added bonus to help the environment, they purchase carbon offsets for users when searches earn revenue. Isn’t that great. You can find other nice features on the site as well so check it out.
